May 19th, 2008Oren Moverman is giving the director’s position a go, with Jena’s latest “work in progress” - The Messenger.
Synopsis: Follows a young Army officer who is forced to work with a partner he can’t stand in the least desirable job in the military. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a soldier’s widow.
Jena Malone will be acting alongside Woody Harrelson (White men can’t jump), Samantha Morton (Minority report, yeah she’s the girl who can see the future ..) and Ben Foster (Play’s Angel in X-Men 3: The last stand).

Sounds good! Given the strong cast, I just hope that Jena’s role will be much bigger and more substantial than those in “Cold Mountain”, “Pride & Prejudice”, “Into the Wild” or “The Ballad of Jack & Rose” (at least a major supporting character), so that she can demonstrate her true talent to a wider audience and maybe challenge again for some well-deserved awards…
