Oren Moverman is giving the director’s position a go, with Jena’s latest “work in progress” – The Messenger.
Synopsis: Follows a young Army officer who is forced to work with a partner he can’t stand in the least desirable job in the military. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a soldier’s widow.
Jena Malone will be acting alongside Woody Harrelson (White men can’t jump), Samantha Morton (Minority report, yeah she’s the girl who can see the future ..) and Ben Foster (Play’s Angel in X-Men 3: The last stand).

Jena also apparently snapped on the red carpet when a reporter confronted her and said that he felt the film (Into the wild) never fully explained why the main character went into the wild. A decent enough question wouldn’t you think?

The Ruins – coming to a theatre on March 8th
The ruins, staring our favourite actress, Ms Jena Malone, is currently in post production and is set for a release date of March 8th. Lets have a peak at the plot shall we?
A group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they, along with a fellow tourist embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.
Can’t think of any scary movie that Jena has been in, perhaps this is a first? Check out the trailer to see what I mean.
SMH gives “Into the wild” 4 stars
The Sydney Morning Herald gave Jena’s latest movie, “Into the wild” a 4 star rating – stating that “Sean Penn’s directing career has been moving towards a major statement and this powerful, poignant film could be it.”
