Five Star day Update

Five Star day Update

One reader asked about the release date for this movie and whilst the release date is still set for 2010 (rather broad don’t ya think?), a source (Cam’s day lol) mentioned that it’s initial launch will be at film festivals instead of a normal cinematic release.

The thing about this movie is that I keep forgetting that Cam Gigandet is playing the main role. I mean this is the Kevin from The O.C, and also most recently, James from Twilight (but we don’t watch just nonsense right?). But none the less, this dude is in demand – and currently has TEN movies in post/pre-production! Crazy stuff.

5 Star Day

5 Star Day

Marcus was kind enough to send in news of Jena’s newest movie, “5 Star day”. Definitely a step up in the world for Ms Malone as she gets to portray an adult character, being a single mother.

5 Star day revolves around Jake Gibson, a man who purses an adventure to disprove the theory of Astrology, after a series of unfortunate events. He tracks down those that were born at the same time he was in the same hospital, in order to see if there are any connections.

This movie will be on my radar over the coming weeks so keep an eye on this website.

My only criticism so far is that I’m not a fan of Jena’s short hair in this movie (No offense Jena), but other than that it looks like a worthwhile movie. Be sure to watch the trailer below.

Win a Signed Copy of Jena’s album

Win a Signed Copy of Jena’s album

So being the good webmaster that I am, I’ve decided to promote the little competition that Fancast.com are doing over on their Jena Malone page.

All you have to do is answer the question below and email it to; ann_murray2@comcast.com

What was the name of ‘The Shoe’s’ tour through Los Angeles in May of 2008?

Knowing the answer, I can say its not too hard to find on the Internets. Try the Googlemobile :)

The Ruins Movie Review

The Ruins Movie Review

IMDB regards this movie as a horror/thriller – so buckle your belts because kansas is going bye bye.

The adventure begins in that all too familiar scene, four American tourists on vacation relaxing in a resort style hotel in Mexico. Jeff McIntire (Jonathan Tucker), Amy (Jena Malone), Eric (Shawn Ashmore) and Stacy (Laura Ramsey) befriend fellow german vacationer Mathias, who offers to take them on an archaeological digg. Of course the night wouldn’t be complete without a beach party …

The next day, hung over as hell (Jena Malone) embarks with the rest of the group on a trip to visit the Ruins, with the promise of seeing something cultural before the vacation ends. The group embarks on what looks like a taxi, reaching their mysterious destination, deep within the jungle of Mexico. When the group stumbles upon the ruins, all hell breaks loose as a local tribe interrupts their journey.

The sequence of events seem to unfold like so; creepy, gross, creepy and then gross.

Being forced to the top of a hill by the local tribe, the group sets camp on top of the ruins and interestingly enough, have an array of tools at their disposal. (Rope and pully system that leads into a dark hole? Interesting ..). The movie proceeds to unfold with disaster after disaster, with the odd tear shed in between. This is where we see Jena Malone’s acting at its finest, as the ruins take control over the group and they must work together to defeat the horror within. Lucky there’s a doctor within them, as on more than one occasion you’ll witness a knife to human flesh… groovy huh .. if you’re into that type of thing.

As events unfold, the group uncovers more about the horror they are faced with, and why the local tribe did not follow them up the hill. But what they realize the worst is that are being kept hostage, unable to stay with the horrors lurking within the ruins, and unable to venture out for fear or being attacked by the local tribe.

If you saw the trailers for this film, you’d be expecting another “Hostel” style movie. But what unfolds is a tragic tale of what appears to be humans interrupting mother nature itself. Its true, the Ruins are really “Alive”. The movie wouldn’t be complete without a classic “running through the jungle” style scene as you witness Jena Malone running through the jungle barefoot with angry tribe members close behind.

Overall, this movie provides exactly what it’s genre states; horror and thrills. It makes you squirm with its dedication to be realistic, for nothing is left untouched. If you want to see Jena Malone in a different light (This ain’t no pride and prejudice), then you must defiantly check this movie out. It can be purchased on DVD from Amazon below.

Jena Spotted in the City of Atascadero

Jena Spotted in the City of Atascadero

One of our readers spotted Ms Jena Malone in a Goodwill store in Atascadero today, and asked the question, what is Jena doing in such a small town?

I have no idea why this is news worthy.

That is all.
